The nostalgia was extremely strong I was unprepared for how fond I still am of that OS. Running OS 8.5 again felt like coming home. The first time I booted up my fresh install, I was like, HOLY CRAP that thing just booted in three seconds! It starts WAY FASTER than classic. Since my MBP has yet to arrive (I just had to get the upgraded HDD - View image here: -), I won't know 'till then how well it works under emulation.īut, running at native speed on my 1Ghz G4 Powerbook, the thing feels fast. So, I managed to track down a copy of Mac OS 8.5 and get it installed an running in SheepShaver on my PowerBook. Ray: Just get your ROM from the ROM update it worked for me.
